WPC Registration - WPC License In India
The Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing (WPC) of Department of Telecommunications (DoT), India is the National Radio Regulatory Authority responsible for frequency spectrum management, including licensing and caters the needs of all wireless users.
As per WPC guidelines, all wireless products working in delicensed frequency bands require Equipment Type Approval (ETA) from WPC License. ETA is issued on per model basis. Application can be filed by Indian manufacturers or Authorized Indian Representative in case of foreign manufacturer.
For ETA, there is no requirement of in-country testing and RF reports from ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories are accepted.
WPC ETA Registration for the equipment which operate in delicensed frequency bands and are exempted from import license requirements in India can be obtained under ETA (Self-Declaration) scheme which is a completely online paperless process. To apply and get more information on WPC License please visit the Saral Sanchar portal of Department of Telecommunications.
